Female Nude Curled Up (Figurative Nude Painting)
Female Nude Curled Up is a contemporary figurative oil painting on canvas panel, painted from life, using my own pigments. I prefer the thicker texture and body of my own paints.
I painted this small figurative nude painting in oils from a live model, doing most of the painting in one sitting. I then scumbled and applied impasto-ed highlights after.
The brushmarks and texture of the paint are very satisfying in this simple figure study. I also used a limited and balanced palette of colours, allowing secondary hues to come through by scumbling light over dark.
