Sirens Artwork

These Sirens artworks are one of my figurative oil painting series and were painted from live models or from imagination.

I began my Sirens painting series in 2019 before Covid, when I was going to life drawing classes every week, and the models didn’t need to wear a stupid mask.

I had many charcoal sketches and graphite drawings which I used as material for my Sirens artwork.

I liked the idea and imagery of the female nude within a beautiful and wild seascape. There is something quite powerful about this theme I feel, and yet it is tinged with a certain pathos too.

The women are wild, and so is the ocean. We don’t see their faces, just as we don’t see the bottom of the sea.

You can read more about the Siren Paintings as well as what they symbolise to me here.
